Introducing our plug-and-play alarm/keyless entry adapter, designed specifically for Toyota and Lexus vehicles equipped with the factory RS3000 alarm system. This adapter provides a reliable solution to common issues with the RS3000 system, such as frequent failures, hard-to-find remotes, and poor remote range. The RS3000 factory alarm was found in many 90's/early 00's Toyotas. This adapter makes for an quick and clean install of an aftermarket keyless/alarm in these vehicles without having to cut or modify any factory wiring. You can finally have a remote that works from more than 2ft away!

We also have the factory piezo beeper replacement if you want to fix the lock/unlock beeper that is typically non-functional after 25+ years.

You are quite enterprising and definitely satisfy my OCD. This looks like a great setup. What viper brand alarm do you like? I saw the Avital you recommended.

Does this require any wiring other than what you wire to the new brain you created? I assume you must have to route the siren or does it use the horn?

Hi and thank you. I like the Avital unit. It's basically the exact same as the base Viper unit, but runs a little cheaper. It has all of the features necessary to replace the rs3000 features. The remotes on both are simple and work great.

With that alarm, you won't have to wire in any extra wires. All wires will go to the brain and the brain will plug straight into the factory connectors.

The siren wires straight to the Avital unit, but the alarm is pre-programmed to use the horn instead as default. I like using the horn because it's simple and the horn works just fine. The Avital alarm I link on the website does not have a siren, but one could be purchased separately if you didn't want to use the horn.

This is great. Just for reference which Viper unit is the comparable? The RS3000 brain is under the seat. Is this where you leave the unit you built and the brain for the alarm?

I prefer the horn as the alarm as well.

Thank you!!!

The viper branded unit is a 3100VX. They are both made by the same parent company called Directed Electronics. The instruction manuals are exactly the same.

I would leave the adapter and aftermarket alarm under the seat for ease of install, but they could easily be relocated under a center console or even potentially under the dash somewhere if you could fit it.

This looks great. You have a new customer! Just ordered. Thank you!

Got a LX 450 that has a RS3000 under the drivers seat and the usual dash sensor unit. What I don\t have is a remote. It doesn't look like a remote is a part of this package. Where can I get a COMPATIBLE plug and play remote?

If you are interested, I’ll sell you one at half the price of eBay ones.

I bought this exact item and they work without any issues. It’s been a couple of years and they are holding up fine.

man this is genius. i always thought my old camry just didn’t come with the beep lol. didn’t know it was supposed to have one til now 😅 bookmarking this for when i finally get around to fixing mine

Well, my original rs3000 finally needs replacing. I had previously extended the antenna wire and that worked great for many years, but it has been losing more and more range. It's not the remotes, both behave the same and transmit a nice strong signal (spectrum analyzer). So, something in the alarm front end is dying and my time is better spent doing other things than splicing wires.

Ordered the adapter today (thanks for making a mostly plug-n-play solution), and also the avital unit on amazon. Looking forward to moving to an off the shelf alarm solution vs the aged out rs3000. Truth be told, it's the remote lock/unlock that is I find the most useful.

cheers,
george.

I did the same thing with the Rs3000 antenna, but it got to the point where it would barely work. I sure like having a remote that works reliably from a good distance!

My alarm range is getting shorter and shorter, my chirp has been intermittent at best since buying the rig, and now I've got a very-occasional no-crank situation that may or may not be RS3000 related. I think it may be time to break down and do this. Worst case, it doesn't fix the starting issues but I'm troubleshooting one less system and my remotes would work.

Same here with the lock/unlock convenience. Let us know how the install goes. I may go this route also.

I'll definitely update this thread. I already received the Avital unit and have the wires trimmed and ready to install in the Lutz adapter. I have opened the Avital unit and moved one jumper to select the correct polarity for the install I'm doing.

I will retain the beeper, I prefer that than a loud hooting horn. I had replaced and used 2 beepers in parallel many years ago when the stock piezo died, so will reuse those two.

There's one setting in the Avital that I will change to disable the horn beeping for lock/unlock.

Anyhow, I'll document what I do to install and configure as a reference for anyone that wants some feedback on the product etc.

cheers,
george.
