Toyota Land Cruiser Wins Four Wheeler's 2006 Four Wheeler of the Year Award

Ironically I agree.... but not due to his lack of skills, more appropriately due to his lack of brains. What's even more ironic is he tried to give the poor Toyota driver $20 bucks for his trouble. But the poor Toyota owner graciously declined and said: "I don't need it I'm a doctor, I just wanted to see how my new winch worked."

He now often brags about how Land Rover owner's are known for their snobbish attitudes. My girlfriend claims LR3s are for women, or metro sexuals. I primarily steered away from a LR3 due to reliability issues...

Offroad prowess or not, if you can't trust that your vehicle will get you back where you came from without calling roadside assistance, its not worth any prize in my book.... and that's why I ignored the prize winners and bought a Land Cruiser.

Not to mention, it carries the highest resale value among SUVs.

Myself...I luv Discovery II's and the LR3. In fact, I'd luv to drive an LR3 to show how well a properly designed IFS/IRS rig can do off-road. Reality is though I couldn't consider owning either due to immense repair issues and reliability problems. Having many Rover buddies in AZ I subscibe to their chat forom. The things I hear about their trucks are amazing. AMAZING! And, how long they're down for....incredible. Meanwhile, the Cruisers work forever and without issue. That's MOST important in my book.

Well, I liked the LR3 also, especially after driving one. Excellent on-road feel, I was having difficulty warming up to that Freezer-Box or Green-House design. My friend bought a fully-loaded HSE last December, so I waited to see how it would do. Lots of problems; i.e. peeling paint on front bumper, Nav system wouldn't boot-up upon starting, suspension faults (stuck on rock bottom).

What's more amazing, if you do a quick "used" car search on edumnds (via Auto Trader) you'll find a total of 324 2005 LR3s for sale, many with under 5K miles.

You compare that with a total of fifty-two (52) 2005 Land Cruisers.

I would like to see a report with the total units sold to compare ratios side by side.
