so long as it's a 1st gen runner body (I've never heard of a 2nd Gen runner body in 89). I know that in 89 the pick-ups all changed to the 3rd gen body but for whatever reason the runners kept the older body style. Pretty long explanation for...yes, these will work on an 89 runner
