As the title suggests, I’m curious for input regarding towing with high-clearance, aftermarket bumpers like Costal Offroad (https://www.coastaloffroad.com/shop...#attr=1434,1436,1442,1443,1446,1448,1450,8100 ) and Brute Force Fabrication (Brute Force Fab - https://bruteforcefab.com/1st-gen-sequoia-rears-1). I tow infrequently but when I do it’s a trailer between 4,500-5,000 lbs).

Brute Force Fab’s bumper isn’t rated yet they indicate it’ll handle anything the stock hitch can handle (unsure if this is legit or marketing bluff). The Coastal Offroad flat out says it’s generally not meant for towing (again, since this is a weld-at-home kit, I suspect this is more a liability issue and less a competence one). Curious if anyone has any experience towing with these bumpers.

Thanks

That’s a great looking rig.

Short version is a lady hit my sequoia while parked in front of my home. My rear bumper is scraped a bit and sitting higher on the left side than right, but her truck (Nissan Frontier) was totaled by insurance. I’m vacillating between sticking with an OEM bumper (and keeping known tow capacity) or jumping to an aftermarket set up (uncertain capacity).
