I went and checked whether an 80 tow loop would fit the 100. It does indeed seem like the bolt pattern is the same. The 80 loop should also fit the frame.
HOWEVER: in the front the 80 loop would be tucked too high in for the strap to be able to clear the OEM bumper (on an 03 at least). This use would result in a damaged bumper for sure. One could use a thick block to lower the loop, though, but it would have to be strong. In the rear, it's a bit better but still marginal position.

Conclusion: the 80 loop may not work as is, which is probably why they put this long skinny "hook" of sorts on the 80.
