Im trying to get my tow electrics set up using an aftermarket LX470 wiring kit - but I can’t seem to get the trailer lights to synchronise
It’s a 100 series plug that leads to a box with left, right, tail, earth and brake going in. Then coming out is just left, right, earth and tail (no brake wire)
Then on the new towbar 7 pin socket wiring, I wired up the corresponding colours
But it seems the lights are talking a different language to the car as none of the lights work correctly. For example if I indicate left then both flashers are on. Or just the tail lights but they don’t brighten with the brake pedal. I have tried a few variations and to do one by one to see if I can find the correct way by eye. However I’m having no joy!
Am I missing something here? I presumed it was a simple basic easy old school wiring but clearly not
I’ve attached some images of the parts used
Maybe I could cut the black box out and wire direct from the aftermarket plug to the 7pin socket? Or is there some kind of module I need to get in between please?
Expected it to be easy and and as sure there’s a simple solution.
