Anyone out there with a tough dog suspension and stock wheels/tires? Looking for anyone with that combo willing to post a picture of their LC.

I recently purchased this 2017 LC with 25k miles and I'm considering installing a TD suspension but would like to keep the stock wheels/tires as most of my driving is highway. I'd like a mild lift to help level out the vehicle and prefer upgrading the suspension for better handling and ride vs. adding front spring spacers.

Most of what I see on this forum has a lift and larger tires, so I just wanted to make sure I like the look before I proceed with my install. Thanks!

Welcome!

I hope someone chimes in here because your question is of interest to me too. Pretty much everyone who has installed suspension has also installed tires, so you may not get any input?

Thanks, I do obviously like the look with a mild lift/KO2 combo, but likely would keep the stock size tires for at least the next few years.

I have the Toughdog suspension with stock sized tires on a 2011 200. I will be going to larger tires (33's) soon. I'll try to get a pic up...

Yeah I did rock warriors and 33’s, then a year later did tough dog lift. Great suspension though I’ve been very happy with it

For those that have Tough Dog's, did you go adjustable or just the standard 41mm? Perhaps it's not that beneficial, but thinking i may do the adjustable rears if i ever needed to tow.

As another option - how about tires before suspension?

A nice set of 285/65r18s (32.6") will give you a .6" lift in and of itself. And provide all terrain traction and durability.

More aggressively, a 285/70r18 or 305/65r18 with .75" spacer, both 33.6" for a 1.1" tire lift. Will need a tad of fender liner trimming.

On an IFS truck, suspension lift is not a prerequisite to tires as it does not provide any more clearance like it did in the solid front axle days. I still run my LX at stock height with 33.2" tires.

I went with the 45mm adjustable all the way around. When the LC doesn't have much in it I have them set much lower than when the truck is loaded for a trip. Usually the rears are about 4 (highway), when loaded 5-7 and that controls the weight much better. I also often have the front and rear at different settings. Setting them at 2 can make it nice and smooth on a rough dirt road.

I prefer the adjustable as they didn't cost much more and provide some flexibility depending on how the LC is loaded.

Same here. The adjustable work really well.

I'm following also as I want to do a minimal lift, like 1-2", and improve handling. If the loads I pull vary greatly, is going standard 41mm in front with spacer and adjustable 45mm in the back a good combo?
