FYI. Installed suspension today, and the TC UCA looked different than all the photos I’ve seen on the web. I called TC and they stated that the uniball design no longer has a bolt coming out of the top. It is now a recessed design, as people who were jumping Land Cruisers were full stroking the suspension and the UCA uniball bolt was hitting the body and chassis in places. This was changed around July 2018. Photo of updated part below. * will update from PC tonight, can’t upload from iPhone.

When I first saw this, I thought the shop had put the uniball post together wrong or something. A simple phone call to TC, and this is indeed correct. They have only made this change to the LC200 line, for the aforementioned reasons.

Interesting... living on the east coast I'm not "jumping" my 200 but have been running their UCAs and LCAs for about 3 years now without issue minus having to replace the bushings now a couple times.

These are the stock length arms right? I never thought the top bolt could hit the top of the wheel well without other suspension bits breaking first.
 
Apparently the revision stems from issues encountered in the Middle East, where people who “jump” their land cruisers were experiencing the problem. The rubber body mounts flex, and under full stroke the body can rock enough to hit the top of the bolts. I suppose people abuse their vehicles much more than we are used to in the states. Either way, just posted to update everyone on the running change. I think a top cap to keep crud out would have been a logical mod if the tops are now flush....

Yes, stock length afaik. They’re just the normal TC uca for the LC200.

Replaced your bushings "a couple times" in 3 years? There's probably an issue in there somewhere other than the bushings. They say to only tighten the through-bolt while the truck is sitting on the ground. Also use plenty "SuperLube" and make sure you've loosened the through-bolt before trying to push lube through the zerks. You may know all this stuff but adding in case future readers do not. Did you contact TC after the 1st or 2nd replacement to see what they say?

Yeah the first set lasted maybe 10K miles but that was attributed to my installer screwing up and greasing improperly and didn't loosen the through bolt when greasing so the bushings eventually bulged and wore prematurely. the 2nd set had a similar issue but lasted longer at least. The guys at toyota greased the fronts during a couple service intervals (again without telling me since they normally grease everything w/ a zerk fitting), didn't tell me about it but when I'd grease it myself I'd loosen the through bolt and release the pressure then grease it. the rears links bushings were replaced the first time just a couple of months ago and most of them were past their lifespan. They went 4+ years i think.
