I was tightening the bolts for the connecting rods on my 2F a while back and torqued them to spec. They didnt feel very tight, and it seems that they should be a little tighter than what was listed. Am I missing something, or what? They were tight-ish, but I feel that they could possibly work themselves loose. Should I be using thread locker on them? I have some blue somewhere in my shop.

Torque to Spec. PLastiguage each bearing to check fit. If you feel they are to loose you might want to calibrate or try a different torque wrench to see if it is off.
Are your threads bottoming out on your your rod threads before they hit the cap? I have never had it happen but I have heard of the rod bolts stretching.
I would check your plastiguage first and then your torque wrench calibration.
If you have not been plastiguaging. Start over with your crank shaft and then do the rods.
Plastiguage is available for your auto parts store.

If your torque wrench is similar to mine it has a long handle. The extra leverage is deceiving. I agree you should torque to spec and check your wrench against another one.

Not sure how plastigauge can help with torquing bearing caps. I always thought it was for measuring clearances.

Thanks guys. Should I use the thread locker? If so, the threads need to be clear of lubricant right?
