I am going to build my own tonneau cover and need some ideas.

My truck is a 85 long bed that will be bob tailed into a standard bed length.

I want to be able to cover my ARB fridge, camping gear, tools, spare tire, hi-lift.

I would prefer to be able to lock it.

I am interested in seeing some other peoples solution to cargo mounting/ covering in the bed.

No camper shells- not the direction I want to go.

Post up some pics !!

Are you going for the hard or soft option?

Get two 1/2" sheets of ply wood (Birch) is best, Rip them 29-13/16", used one of the remaining pieces on the under side to but them together,That gives you 59-11/16" wide,Rip to the length you need. Cover in marine carpet or paint? Then you'll need to get two 1x1 aluminum angle from lowes or home depot, rivet it to the inside of your bedrail, this will allow the cover to set flush w/ the top of the bed. Some HD piano hinge for the front, two locking hinges for the rear,We used tool box pivets and 80 psi gas shocks to help openn the lid.
 Good Luck
