Hey folks, been awhile. Been busy trying to work all that overtime so I can afford more toys for my rig. Got my OME 2.5 and need to get it put on (wheel wells looking kinda full with the new tires). Has anyone here put on there own, and if so how long did it take them on the 80? I use the truck for work, meaning if I start on it on a Saturday, can I expect to be done on Sunday? Wanting to put the 1" body lift on at the same time. Am I trying to do too much in 2 days? Should I split it into 2 seperate projects? Granted I will be doing this at my uncles shop, with about every tool imaginable.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

thnx,
Jeremy

Man I thought you were dead or sold your rig. Glad to hear from you.

If your truck has no rust both can be installed in a full weekend. If there is anything more than light surface rust it would be better to split up the installs. When I installed my body lift it took about a day and half w/ Wendy helping because of the rusted mount bolts. The suspension lift was an easy one day by myself and I installed the castor correction bushings the following weekend.

A 2.5" OME can usually be done in about 1/2 day or so, not including castor correction or steering stabilizer. Be sure to hit all the bolts with some good penetrating oil every day for several days before you start.

Glad to see you're still around. Just let us know when we're wrenching and I'll be there. Also what extra tools, jacks, etc you might need.

Thank you for the input, I feel a little less nervous now about tackling this in 2 days time.

Yeah sorry I havnt been on, like I said been trying to save money for the truck, working extra hours and so on. I went through the underbody with a fine tooth comb, replacing all the U-joints, replaced all the wheel bearings on the front end inner and outer, had the rotors smoothed out, new brakes, still working on the damn AC . Basically getting the truck as reliable as I can.

Anyways thnx again for the input, and hopefully I can get all this done over the new years weekend. crossing the fingers that I might get some more toys for Christmas, been dropping alot of hints to the :princess:.

Hey folks, that time of the year is here, and the wife has just informed me of my christmas present. She is getting me an ARB front bumper, for the holidays. :bounce:

My next question I guess to follow some of this up from earlier. I know that IBCRUSN you have some additional items on your lift, I was just wondering if there is anything you would suggest me purchase at the same time to install as the body and suspension lift. ie. Bump stops etc.? I just wouldnt want to get the truck pulled apart put back together. To turn around and take it apart again for something that could have been done in advance.

Any input would be appreciated, I am ordering some more parts to get this done over Christmas Vacation.

Thnx,
Jeremy
