is this thing a lost cause? - i was thinking about looking at it tmrw. just because! (plus my mechanic friend, with a lift in his home garage, needs me for fixing his chimney... hey, my cruiser addiction is improving!

- would going from an 80 to a 40 like this be crazzyy. or am i asking the wrong crowd?

Not LOST, but getting there. Aqualu tub cures a lot.


As for going from an 80 to a 40....

A bit like going from a cadillac to buckboard wagon, except with more noise , leaks and bad smells.

Sorry, it's already gone! Dad was quick again. Mostly salvageable, good floor and frame. We'll see what we can do with it.

ya - i figured one of you cruiser vets would be all over this: kinda had a feeling despite the surface rust - that the frame and floor were in good shape - nice to hear. all the best with the project!

Thats pretty crazy. The engine in that truck reminds me of this car for sale in Victoria right now: http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/Toyota-Aristo-Lexus-GS-300-1992-Supra_24117119. Briefly I entertained using it as an engine donor for a Prado. Would make towing easier. 1jzgte and 2jzgte are my favorite gas inline sixes from Toyota; such incredible engines.

I wonder if this is a late BJ or an early HJ? The mirrors and auto trans make me think HJ. There is a gauge near the shifter that might be a boost gauge.
