I've never heard anything bad about them, thats a good start! The muds are supposed to be excellent and we had toyos on our F350 that I thought were a great tire.

They are a great tire and because of that they are expensive. I would go for the MTs not the ATs, unless you do little off-road.

try to find toyo m55's they are retreadable.

The Toyo M55 are a way better A/T tire than the open country we have a customer who runs them and likes them. I swear by the open Country MT, cause that is what I run on the rears, I also got lots of experience with different terrain on them. The only time they werent good was in the cold weather cause of the hard compound, they never got stock just a little slick on the hard pack and ice.

Sounds like you need some siping!

My M55s are loud on the highway, not as loud as my BFG MTs, but the MT rumble is soothing while the M55 whine reminds me of a school bus. Maybe I need a few hundred more pounds of ballast to soften them up a bit.

I think the M55s were what we had on our F350 and the noise was very noticable over the deisel engine.

u know...we run the open country's on the taco and the M55's on the 62 and everybody complains about the M55's for road noise but i have found them to be fine as far as noise goes and great in the snow, i would opt for the M55's i think over the open country AT's but both are very good tires and i cant really complain about either

yep... I just need to get a window switch and then I'll be able to insure this damn truck.... stupid ontario insurance...
I know, right? Everybody here bitches about ICBC..... until they have to insure a vehicle anywhere else.

Are you in GTA? They just got slapped with a municipal fee on top of everything else - $60/yr per vehicle just to own a plated vehicle, even if it never leaves your driveway. That's in addition to the insurance, inspection, and licensing fees everybody else in Ontario pays.

So what is so retarded about having a vehicle operating properly, unlike most vehicles around here. I have spent the better part of 7 years in ontario. So I can say from experience that the insurance system is pretty good. The better things are you only need to buy a plate for a trailer unlike icbc. Tell you hit 25 your insurance is huge cause you are a higher risk, then it drops big time as long as you are a safe driver. You just have to learn the system. With ICBC you maximize at 43% and if you do a claim you get the 3rd degree after paying so many thousands of dollars into them. But this is my opinion.

Nothing retarded about having a vehicle operating properly I think that to some extent is a responsibility of every vehicle owner. However while good maintenance and safety is important so is the ability to drive a vehicle home and fix it up. A window switch is hardly a reason to keep a vehicle off the road in my opinion.

Also I'd say that while some people under 25 are a higher risk many are safe drivers and having my insurance premiums change from approx 100 dollars a month to approx 270 dollars a month is a pretty big difference. I have no at fault accidents and the only accident I've been in is when someone ran a red light across the highway in front of me.

I can't speak to insurance premiums in ontario vs those in bc except what I have experienced.

I haven't had any problems with ICBC and dealing with my accident although I will acknowledge that there are many flaws in their system that I wish were different.

Basically having this huge change in my insurance price and the frustration from having to wait 3 weeks for a window switch to arrive is why I was saying that the ontario insurance is retarded. This is ignoring the fact that its annoying to shop around and most of the insurance places that I found weren't open weekends only to find out it was considerably more expensive. I'd be less critical if it was the same price/cheaper then bc for me...

what window switch are you talking about? Also no shop holds a vehicle cause of failed system unless you have no insurance on it or it is really safety oriented. The second time I moved out there I had no washer bottle so they wouldn't pass me but the guy said get it fixed come back and I will give you the paper. Another key is to ask locals where a good shop that is friendly. The other chose is if you arent staying that long is don't change it. Change your insurance to basic, it will make it cheaper.
