Hey guys - I know this is a tired subject, but I just added an OME suspension lift and now my 285/70/17 Bridgestone Revo's are looking small. I am looking to stay with the stock wheels (alloy), but want to increase tire size to 285/75/17. I am finding that this combo is hard to find a lot of options for tires. Would I be better off getting 16 inch wheels and selling the stock to get more options? I really like the Revo's and they have been great so far in mud, snow and rain. I certainly want to stick with a quality tire, but do not want to have to add spacers or trim body mounts if I go to a different wheel size. Suggestions?

i'm planning on going with a 285/85 16 if i can find em.

I don't think you can go over 33x12.5 without trimming body mounts.... I take that back.. heather is running 34s TSLs(I think) and she doesn't rub.. might want to drop her a line or two

Actually, I have 2 sets of tires and wheels...on the 16" TRD's I am running 285/75/16. And yes, you get many more tire choices for 16" wheels. On my steelies, I am running 32/11.5/17 Super Swamper SSR's.

BMThiker is running 34 LTB's on his with an OME lift, but the key is that they are skinny...34/10.5/17? It's not the tire height that will get you, it's the width. If they are too wide, they rub on the body mounts when you turn. And I gotta say, I kinda like the look of pizza-cutteresque tires on the FJC.

Here is BMThiker's rig on the 34 LTB's.

Thanks for your help. I am not too interested in going any wider thatn the 285's, but I would like to get taller tires to help fill-in the big gap left after the lift. I like the look of the 'pizza cutters' as well. Mostly, I want to make sure I have good tires that will last and do well on and off road and not hydroplane with all the rain we get in the Pacific NW.

I know of a few running 295/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. on stock wheels. Have to trim body mounts though.

I was just looking at those and wondering if I would have to tri the mounts. Thanks for the info!

I am running the 295 Nittos on 16 inch AR wheels...you will definately have to cut the mounts.
