Really solid design! Only complaint is closing, takes a little walk around the perimeter to tuck things in. Still around a minute for takedown and set up.

Did you get a chance to take a closer look at the single? Currently have an autohome columbus but it is always just me. Would not hate the idea of having some space back on the roof...Just got back from Rubithon where I had a chance to see these things, really nice & great reviews from owners. I saw a Twin or narrow one that was very interesting, love the idea of a single wide, was not aware that size existed as I do not recall it being posted in the thread. Will from CO & Dave from TX, good to meet you, see you next time.
Yeah the width seems small but I backpack too so used to small. Also only 5’7” 160…Guy named Will outa Colorado I believe, have not seen the single on the builders posts but was intriqued when I saw it, it is same as big one just narrow, otherwise same.
FWIW I kinda felt it might be a little narrow for me as I go 6 ft and maybe 225, but I would go that way for sure for weight savings.
Another option to a “single”Yeah the width seems small but I backpack too so used to small. Also only 5’7” 160…
Picture is worth a thousand words; awesome picture!Gents - I am 6'6" and 265#. I designed the SOLO to fit me. Each and every tent we have was designed with tall/big guys in mind. (The conspiracy against the tall is real.) FWIW - our tallest customer to date is 6'8".
Here's the proof - Note - there is an extra bit of room in the footwell and the head area.

Has there been any feedback or R&D regarding insulating the top from the underside ? Also for shade & rain some mini batwing style awning on the sides of the top would be cool . I was looking at designing a 270 style batwing for the side of the bottom of tent that would mimic the alum rail, be smaller than other 270's but then I saw an extendable awning on a Sea Ray that gave me an idea, telescoping poles down each side, fabric rolls at back of tent frame, goes out prolly 6 or 7 feet . google Sea Ray and check it out, I think it adapts nicely to the frame and has no down poles, its free standing and that seems to be the sell point for the 270's. The other main design diff is that 270's are heavy, and put load on one side, the extend style would spread load, you could even do a sideways one and get almost as much coverage as a 270. The extendable idea also lends itself to being able to deploy one at a time depending on what you need. I think the weight of the extendable would be less that the batwing, freestanding, 270's.
Anyone have a Terrapod on their FJ Cruiser? Would love to see pics!

That's me! Thanks again Matt.I sold my XL to a FJ cruiser owner but having trouble remembering his name on here on mud right now. No pics but I saw him put it on at my house and it looked good on a FJ. Hopefully he is still using it and is happy with it.
I decided to get a Solo which came out after I got the XL.
