Hello LC Fam

Bought this LC recently with the OME lift and Fuel rims- 295/70/18 Open Country (Not really my fav rim with flames and balloon tire) see pic 1

Had an opportunity to purchase 20 inch Toyota wheels with 33/12.5/20 Toyo Open Country (love the rim style maybe not the low pro tire) can I get a larger 20 inch tire?

lastly the lift is too raked in the back maybe 1-2 inches too high. Lower the back or raise the front?

any suggestions how to fill up that rear wheel well and get more tire and less rim with out any major mods or tweaks

I still have both sets of wheels and tires and like the stock look of Toyota rims.

thanks in advance
Chris

Do you know what your current preload setting on the front struts is? If it was installed with 10mm preload, you can raise it some. Also what rear springs do you have? Changing the rear is easier than the front.

I ended up dead level after I installed BP-51 but with the truck empty. You need some rake so you aren’t sagging the rear when loaded. I liked the height of the front so I ended up adding 30mm spacers to the rear to get what I wanted. I don’t mind the additional “empty wheel well” look within reason. Actually I have some pics of some pretty good “tire stuff” when on the trail. That extra room allows the wheel to fully travel with no rubs.

Hi kcjaz - I purchased the car with the lift already in place so I'm not 100% sure of all the settings and springs but, I believe I have the 2722 rear spring based on the height. I just ordered the 2721 to see if that gets me where I want in the rear. As far as the front it looks like there is room to adjust up. I have these 20 inch rims which leaves fewer choices for a tire with a decent sidewall. I am looking at the Cooper AT3 295/65/20 which will give me another side inch and more aggressive sidewall. Any additional suggestions? Thank you for your input I appreciate it. Chris

You can measure to see what your preload is. 20mm is factory setting and that is for a front bar and winch (heavy). Mine is set at 20mm and I have TJM T13 bumper but no winch. 20mm will result in the maximum lift for the front. I think 5 mm is setting for stock bumper.

My front is adjusted as high as it can go and I’m running the 2721s. W/o spacers this made the truck level with no load. Without the T13, I would have had a slight rake/ rear sag. With essentially anything in the back, I sagged so I added 30mm spacers.

I’m not sure 2721s will reduce the no load height of your truck vs 2722s. I think the difference is really Constant Spring rate vs variable (27/1s are variable).
