OK, I have a 73 FJ, 3spd, 1f engine, (58k original miles and all stock), no lift and stock gearing, I am assuming. It now has 31's on it that are really about 30.5 at best.
I am considering going to 33's but on past vehicles I have done that to (gone bigger), I regretted it because it killed the power, on trails and on the highway. IH8 mudder's seem to mostly be running 33's with no problem but they don't have the altitude issues we have here.
I also don't want to tear up any metal on it, as I just got done painting it. Came out pretty nice, for a home job. I will probably be doing a lift after my disc brake conversion is paid for.
Anyway, I am looking for opinions on this, would appreciate yours!
