I've been looking around the internets for a while looking for a good reccomendation on some new shoes for the Junkie, the only thing I seem to hear/see is "BF Goodrich..." and the same goes for the size. I'm not afraid of spending a little money either. I would consider the tires are in fairly good condition since they've been on since 87, but the truck used to sit around alot, so they arent worn...but they arent really...worn. Then again, the other reason would be the dry rot around the inside of the wheel. Anyone got any ideas?
The size is 35x12.5 and the wheel is 16.5

Also, the two screws that attach and hold the speedo...one of them is a disappearing escape artist. It's slightly entertaining....

I have used BFG All terrains on my last 4 vehicles, HJ60 , HJ75 pick up, HJ75 Troopie and on my current modern SUV a 2005 tdi Nissan Pathfinder.:steer:

I wiil definatley be fitting them to my latest FJ45 pick up when the near new muddies I bought it with wear out.:)

I consistantly got 85 - 90 thousand kilometres out of them. And that was highway 80% gravel 15% and beach 5% (low pressures)
I can not comment on the mud terrrain but they dont tend to last as long. The A/Ts are pretty quiet and handle good.

I would avoid Coopers if you are doing any serious offroading, we have alot of problems with failures in Australia and they are developing a bad reputation.:hhmm:

If you are running them on a standard split rim you will need to use a tube. I always have run them on a wide white spoker tubeless.

That sounds like the best choice so far is to go with the flow. Never liked cooper too much, had a few tire problems with them durking woodcutting in the summer with my parents. Not fun to get a flat with a cord of wood in the truck :(

I've bought Kumho tires for my BMW and my landcrusier. Really nice and the cheapest out there. TireRack.com gives them great ratings for the $$$$.
