Has anyone ever seen this before or know what it is?

I've only seen it on inside walls (so far) and at first thought it was mold. They're small specs and look almost like spattered paint. But then I felt them and some were slightly raised like you could catch it with a finger nail, but they wouldn't scratch off much. So I'm interested to see if anyone is familiar with this. It should be noted I guess that the tent was hosed off at the end of last year, air dried, closed up and left on the truck for the winter, which was driven very little.

I don't know about eggs since most of it isn't raised at all and are very faint/translucent spots, like watered down paint. But it's always possible. As for where it's been the answer is on various beaches in NY and NJ, and in my driveway.

Mold was my first thought too but I've never seen mold that was hard.

I'm wondering if when I hosed down the exterior, after a summer spent on the beach, if some of the salt didn't leak through the material and dry. I never owned a cloth tent before, how porous are these things? It's a 50%-50% poly cotton material ARB tent.
