Hi, does anyone know what level of tint comes on the rear windows and rear windshield of the 2010+ LX 570 and Land Cruiser? I had to sell my 200 (sadly) and I will need to tint the rear glass on the new vehicle. That tint level is pretty good at cutting heat and hiding cargo, but still leaving good visibility at night. Thanks.

I believe it is roughly in the 19 to 21 percent range... I just had my front side windows tinted and the tint shop measured the rears for reference...

Thanks for your input. So you did 20% on the front to match? That was always on my list. Would love to see a pic.

Actually, I ended up putting a 35% on the front sides, I didn't want to look too gangster and get pulled over all the time... I did a lot of research and was going to go ceramic (the best heat resistance), but the shop explained the ceramic has a different color hue than the factory rear glass... I think my 35% is a very high grade vinyl film (cheaper than ceramic too)... If your new ride has no factory tinted glass then you can go ceramic all the way...

There was a lot of back and forth for me on the cost benefit of ceramic... for seven windows of the good stuff your probably looking in the $1,000.00 range... Some of the Tesla guys tint everything including their huge sunroof in the $2,300.00 range...

At some point you have to figure what the vehicle is and what is good enough... My decision was pretty much made for me so it is good enough, not the best but good enough...

35% is good for the front windows. The legal limit in a lot of states, but still good enough to cut heat and glare.

CX-5 AWD with factory hitch. Obviously, you are giving up payload, towing and off road ability for a warranty and a much lower payment (less than half my old payment). 335/month with 1k down, and MD charges you full purchase price 6% sales tax on leases. 15k miles allowed per year, and as they are charging a very low money factor lease buyout is very similar to the purchase price. I was impressed with how the Mazda drives, the comfort of the seats and interior, and the general quality even on the base model. It has both radar and laser sensors for AEB.

Small overlap and pole tests (the hardest) are very good. Roof strength is very good. I would say the ride on its 17 inch wheels is as good as mine was on the LX with these big Michelin tires.

The level of noise is also close, again in the base model. The quality of the base stereo is fine, not as good as the Mark Levinson obviously, but better than I expected. No Takata airbags. Electric Power Steering is very responsive and accurate, better than the hydraulic steering in the LX. Mazda new car reliability is also ranked at #3 of all brands behind Toyota and Lexus by Consumer Reports. Not that it's a huge deal, but MPG doubles. Overall, I'm saving about $4,500 a year compared to what my car payment was before. I closely weighed the decision.
