If the timing belt hasn't been changed/is unknown, I'd want to have that done ASAP. A timing belt that's old enough to drink at bars is going to leave you stranded. For real? I have a 2000 LX with about 115K on it, bought 7 months ago, some service history, and debating timing belt. Talked to service shop that had maintained it before I bought it - they advised wait til you see some temp issues then replace. They kinda think we overdo it with maintenance.
And if your luck is anything like mine, it'll fail on a Sunday evening on the way back from a weekend trip, with a big work presentation on Monday. I will gladly pay to avoid that stress.
And once you're in there, if you're buying AISIN or other high-quality OEM parts (vs. full-price dealer parts) - it's not terribly expensive to get the water pump and idlers, plus cam seals. Then you know it's good for at least another decade/100k/~7200gal.
