Hello all,

It is time to put new shoes on the LC. I have been a BF Goodrich KO guy for a long time. I of course went with KO2s this time and they have not disappointed me at all. I have put somewhere in the neighbor hood of 60k on this set. I love their longevity and traction.

That said, I have been looking at the 34 - 12.50 KO2 and I have seen some people running the Nitto Ridge Grappler in a 295/70/18. If I go with the ridge grappler can I expect the same kind of mileage? If anyone has run both which would you go with and why?

Thanks

I have them in 285/75R17 E-load, which is equivalent to 285/70R18

I do a 5 tire rotation and after 18k miles they had worn off about 2/32" and were at ~13/32". They basically still look new, except the leading/training lips on the lugs are almost worn away (if that makes any sense). With a 5 tire rotation I expect to easily get 60k of use out of them, half towing on the highway and half pure city driving. YMMV of course.

295/70/18 is way too big. 285/70/18 RG is what I run on the LC, and I run KO2s on the LX. Both great tires, but neither is “better”. Totally depends on what you’re going to use it for. RG is more aggressive, KO2 is better in the snow. You’ll need to provide more info on how you’d use them.

275/70/18 sounds about right. The 285/65/18s I have on it are too small. I suppose I am trying to compensate for small tires.

I’m in middle TN. The truck is my daily driver that I take to the woods and trails on weekends. It does snow here from time to time and I’ve found the KO2s do handle the snow well.

That’s is the overall view of what I plan to use them for.

It sounds like they have about the wear rate.

Thanks

My big complaint going from 31” stock Bridgestone tires to 34” Nitto RGs was that my highway mileage dropped from about 17 to maybe 15 at best, more like 13-14 if I was running at 80mph. They are heavy and sticky and any 34” tire puta the engine in the less efficient cruising rpm range. They’ve done very well in snow though

I also need a new set of tires. I currently have Dunlop’s on my LX570 and thinking of switching to Michelin latitudes per dealer recommendation. Does anyone have the Michelin’s and how do they ride?

I have Michelin LTX’s on my LX and GX470’s

Curious if anybody has any observations on the Cooper ST Max?
Many positive reviews, there is a tire and wheel sub forum with much good information. The 100 forum has a lot more built trucks in it and lots of good information too. It is not a mild at tire it has a bit of road noise.
