Time for a Snow Run

I am trying to get a Snow Run together for Saturday, February 2, 2013 (Ground Hog Day).

I am planning on meeting/leaving from Cold Springs/Bordertown (US 395 north at the California border) at 10:00 am. We can meet in front of the Casino/Restuarant.

We will head from there to the north side of Peavine area. Haven't decided whether we will stay on the Crystal Peak Road or turn off and go through the lower meadow area and from there we can turn either right or left to the Crystal Peak Road or up to the Hennessy Pass Road.

If the other people I have invited show up, communications will be varied depending on who has what.

Lunch should be brought as it we will be out during that time. Weather should be decent as it is predicted to be in the low 50's, but plan on being possibly cold and wet and dress accordingly.

I would love to come but I will be heading down to Johnson Valley on Saturday. I had my truck down at Cal4Wheel's Winter Fun Festival and we went up the far west side of Henness Pass Road near Alleghany. The snow was several feet deep but I was really happy with how it worked with the IROKs aired down to two pounds. I'll have to get in on the next snow run when I get home. Dress warm and bring plenty of recovery gear.

Looks like a good time. I think Iroks are some of the best snow tires going. They don't seem to last long overall, but they are hard to beat in the snow.

The good news is you won't be missing anything, something came up and I am going to have to cancel for this weekend. We'll get another one scheduled and hopefully it will be one that will work for everyone's schedule.

Is it time for KOH already? If so, have fun. I've been reading your articles in the last month's issue. You have been busy. Good stuff.
