Hi guys, I am in the process of replacing the clutch in my 77 40 and I was looking at the old and new throw out bearings tonight when I noticed the tapered side of the 2 bearings looked to be a little different and the numbers on the bearings were also different. They both seem to be the same diameter but I want to make sure I didn't get the wrong bearing in my CarQuest clutch kit.
The old bearing #: NACI C52TRBC09-7
The new bearing: NACI BC11S4

I am assuming there are more than one bearing that can be used but I don't want to put everything back together with the wrong bearing in there.
Any thoughts?

You're probably okay there. The important diameter is the one that presses on the throw-out bearing collar. once you press the old one off, check with calipers, if you're within a few thousands, its probably good. I haven't had actual experience with those part numbers, I'm just speaking from common sense... Goodluck...

I think youll be ok. I just put a new clutch in my pig yesterday and noticed the same thing. The outside and inside diameters were the same but the new bearing was thinner and had a different taper. I put it all back together and it works great. I did check to confirm the wear marks on the old bearing indicated the springs would ride on the new surface as well.

Thanks guys, I will double check my inner and outer diameters with my calipers but I am pretty sure they are the same on both the old and new bearings. I feel a bit more confident putting everything back together with the new bearing now. I think I will be fine.
