Not anymore than just fooling around on my property, just to test it out some, ya' know. Previously I did all my work outdoors which always cut my year short. So my shop and being able to build how I'd really like to is the priority. I love to wheel, but I'm very very intrested in learning more. I want to be at the top of the game with my fab work, especially in the off road arena. SO I WILL, but as life is and always has been for me. IT starts rock bottom and I have to build up to it just to get the chance.

But I'm not complaining, the hard knock way is the only way for a soul like me.

Looking forward to pics of the new shop and the build, good luck!

If I have time I'll try and get some pics this weekend or during the upcoming week. I spend all my money on things that aren't digital snapshot cameras! So I'll borrow one. Its just one of the things I never think of. Not a technology guy but it would be useful, my cell phone camera is just poor quality. I should just buy a cheap one for this kind of purpose.
later!

Ok, here are some pics of the shop. They came from my video camera that has a wide angle lens intended for widescreen video. I didn't extract the frames right so they are a little funky looking. I'll try and get some better pics soon.

Anyone know if there is a way to identify the year my sm 420 was manufactured? Like serial numbers, changes to the casting, ect. I'm curious what year it's from, I know 68 was the last year. With some early 69's that still had the 420 before chev went to the 465.

Here ya' go dude, info about the 420. If you are lucky it will be a 1954 or later model with a front seal instead of a weep hole on the front bearing retainer. Just look for a small hole on the bottom side of the front snout.

Nice shop too...

you should think about wheeling your 40 for a while and seeing what you like and don't like about the changes you made before you tear it all apart and start over......enjoy it for a while, you'll get burned out on never ending fabbing if you don't have some fun with the rig occasionally

nice shop!

420 looks like a 64-67 version as it has ribs on the reverse buldge.
