im thinkin of gettin an 80 instead of another 60.

i want to do more expedition stuff more than mud and rocks i did with my 60.

post up the best pics of 80's so i can see what the potential of an 80 is, and tell me the best points to an 80

thanks

I went from a very nice 60 to an 80 recently. Big difference. I loved my 60, and miss it's simplicity and distinctive style. The 80, however, has a lot more power and refinement, while retaining the rough country performance. Now I can hear the stereo and drink coffee while driving.

The lockers are worth paying a little extra.

With regard to power, if you're happy with the minimum, buy the FJ80 (91-92). If you need sufficient power, it sounds like the FZJ80 (93-97) is the way to go.

The FJ80 has the pushrod 4.0L, while the FZJ80 has more power through greater (4.5L?) displacement and DOHC.

Our 3FE can't hold 65mph in 4th gear in the face of a typical 30mph high plains headwind. OTOH, it has enough torque off-road. The 91-92 doesn't have the e-locker factory option either.
