thermostat 2LTE

Hi guys , was wondering if any one could help me out , i need to get a thermostat i believe , would any one know a part number or any help , I have an lJ78 with the dreaded 2lte engin , any help would be awesome , thanks .

Sorry about that I live in Moose Jaw SK and it is a 1990 lj78 diesel 4cyl I am sure that a lot of you know a lot about this engine, Thanks again for any assistance

Radd Cruisers should have your t-stat.

I have used a 82'C thermostat from an 86 toyota diesel pickup, available at napa.

Couple of things, It is too low a setting for Alberta winter, and it also did not seem to open that far into the housing.
When rebuilding my engine this fall, i switched back to the 88'C and I like it better.

I am assuming that NAPA would carry the 88'C one as well.

That may well be true for Canada but if you go into a NAPA store here in the U.S. and ask for a t-stat for a 2L-TE or any Toyota diesel for that matter, all you will get is confused looks.

I went for the 82C at the time, as I heard it was a good idea to help prevent heat problems. Although now I'm wondering if I should have gone with the 88C one, as I think my fuel economy is suffering with the cooler operating temperature.
