Theoretically... what if I was to sell the 80?

I've been toying with the idea of selling my 93 FZJ80 for a 2001-2003 4dr Tacoma... What do you think would be a good selling price? It is triple locked and the lockers work. It has 315 KM2s with about 5,000 miles on them. The truck has 284,000 but runs really good. I just did the front knuckle service with Koyo bearings and all but one of the ABS sensors got messed up so I pulled the fuse:) It also has 850/860 OME 2.5 in lift. The springs in the rear are used but everything else with the shocks was new when put on last year. It also has the 3 degree slee CC bushings. It also has interior LEDs, Sony CD player with Ipod hookup and John Deere HIRs in the low beam headlights. It has a few oil leaks of course, and a dented front bumper and a dent on the rear door. It also has a new drivers window run that makes the window work really nice. I don't need to sell it but I think I want a Tacoma. So... what would be a good asking price? Also does anyone know of a good 4x4 4dr Tacoma 2001-2003 with the rear locker for sale? Whatcha think?

If you don't have to sell the LC to purchase the Taco, get the Taco and keep the LC. I have a 97FZJ80 and a 2004 Taco 4dr4wd. I love both for their respective uses and abilities.
Sorry if this doesn't help answer your question about the value of the LC. But that is what I'd try to swing.
As far as Tacos for sale, I have seen a few extra cabs on Laurens Road across from the ICAR entrance, but rarely have I seen the quad cabs for sale.

I ordered the silicone PHH kit to fix a leak but found out it was the water bypass hose #2, when I got into it the PO had already replaced the PHH and it still looked ok. I also replaced the PCV valve and PCV hoses, other than that nothing else to the engine. I do have the engine oil pump cover and distributor o-ring gaskets but have never gotten around to replacing them. Of course the oil has been changed regularly.

Quad cabs are hard to find. There is one for sale in town right now that I like but they want a lot for it.
I can't swing another extra truck, I already have the 85 4runner and the 12 Grand Cherokee of the wifes. I don't think I'll ever wheel the 80, that's what the 4unner is for and the 80 is just so big. It would be a shame to get rid of but I just wouldn't need it.

I know it's a bad pic but you get the idea...

True words from a seller

Take my word it is indeed nice as described. :)

Tacos are over-valued right now. Prices high, because demand is high in the used market. Best of luck. As said above, I'd keep the 80 and also get the pickup if you can afford it.

Are you hoping to sell and buy the Taco at around the same price? If so I seriously doubt thats going to happen. I agree with BMThinker Tacos are high unless you find someone in a hurry to sell or does not have a clue what they actually have.

Oh no! I know I will have to pay, just wondering how much I can get for the 80.
