Since the move to our new hood, I've been forced to park the 100 on the streets again. All the garages and lots are full around here. PITA to move it twice a week, but I figure I save $50 everytime I do. :D

Any thoughts on deterring would be thieves / joy riders?

Actually the bigger thing around here is airbag and front and rear lamp assembly thefts. Fawkers.

OMG, air bag thefts??? I must really live in the sticks.:hillbilly: Tail lights I could see, but not on a cruiser since it’s not the most popular vehicle on the street.
How about lojack stickers on the windows?
Now I know why I don’t want to live in Brooklyn yo!
Not that anywhere else is crime free. I remember I parked my car on the street of a bad neighborhood when I moved to Albq. Kept the bedroom window open and a loaded gun at arms reach.
Now I keep the keys in the ignition. (yes, it’s nice not to worry. The stress is going to catch up to you.)
Stay safe,
vaya con Dios,
DMX

Yeah, it's crazy. My neighbors Acura had it's air bags lifted out of it. The cops said they did a real clean job too.

Believe it or not, it's pretty chilled in this part of the BKL. We love it a lot better than Manhattan for sure. We sleep with the windows open, but no firearms...yet.

I bet a ton of dents, scratches and mud would do the trick

What thief in their right mind would want to risk getting DIRTY while breaking into a vehicle, eh ? Plus...Even if it was broken into, you could just follow the muddy footprints to the culprit

My lenses are way too scratched up and nasty for anyone to want them, and my interior is filthy, I have never had a problem with theft or vandalism.
SEE, It worked for me ..

What about a Python? Either the snake or the Colt :)

I've never seen a car with "The Club" installed stolen. (might slow down the airbag theives too)

Also get one of those 1500 watt halogen motion tripped lights aimed at the car.

Do not leave anything visable in the car. Not a jacket. Not a set of keys to your gym locker. Not a Phone charger. Not a planner. Not fast food trash on the floor. The car should look sterile. You want the thief to look inside and see absolutely nothing. The meth heads will happily break the window just to steal your phone charger.

I believe the 100 lamp assemblies are pretty secure due to no external access. (third world ready:D )

The regular club is easily defeated by simply sawing the steering wheel and pulling it off. Up here where I live, the club is almost useless. Cars are stolen non stop with clubs sawed off. Instead, I've been using one of these for years; much harder to defeat (but possible given time) and it also protects your airbag. (Autolock 2000)

Not sure if you can keep the airbag, but I've seen some people install removable steering wheels, a la Formula One cars.

I think NorcalDoug has relatively release on his LF240's, too.

Good luck!

Thanks for the link. Just asked a couple of UK guys I'm working with right now and they say it works great.

I'm gonna look into it.
