Nice! Shipping it back, driving or flying out to get it??? Would make for a fun father son road trip! But it would be kind of scary to drive an unknown vehicle that far. Especially with all the 1fzfe hg karma you've built up over the years lol.

Yeah, I'm looking at it the opposite way. I've talked so much s*** about the HG failures on the 1FZ-FE mine will never fail just to prove me wrong!

At least that is my hope...

Shipping it will cost about what one ticket to LA costs. If I decided to go out and drive it back with my son it would be purely for the adventure. And frankly, I've got enough adventure in front of me with this one. :)

Well if you do decide to drive it back and need anything in Utah, let me know. I'm around SLC, so I may not be directly on your route, but I can probably still work something out if you need help.

I have a head gasket kit ready for you. Please provide a CC# and at least a 12 pack of beer sir for all of the BS about how awesome the 3F-E is.

The only person who can say that is @jonheld

My 92 will still be my DD and camping rig. Nothing has changed there. Still will drive it anywhere, anytime.

The 93 was cheap. Cheaper than any 91-92s I saw. Even with the coveted front and rear lockers.

I'm still stand by my claim that the 3FE is the best petrol motor put in a Land Cruiser in NA. Hands down.

Mr. 3FE comes to The Dark Side! Next you're gonna be hunting for that dream home in Texas!

I doubt I will drive it. 310k unknown miles on a motor and shallow pockets make a 1500 mile trip not all that appealing. Thanks for the offer though.

I've been to the dark side 4 other times. Never kept them. Not sure why I think this one is different. I should've kept the 94 I bought a couple of years ago for $1200. But this one has lockers...

There is a better chance of me buying a Heep than me moving to Texas. F&%$ Texas!

Hey-I like the 3FE too, just not in an 80 where there are better choices.

If that truck has already lasted 310,000 miles, the statistical chance of the HG going in the next 1500, is near zero. I say fly and drive. NLXTACY seems to have too much time on his hands, so have him do the PM (fluids, bearings, new radiator, PHH, water pump and belts) and drive it home.

You sure you want to take a rust free truck to Iowa? That seems kind of wrong. Maybe you should move to the truck.

This is why I'm letting it sit at his house for a few weeks so his OCD can kick in! Although he specifically told me on the phone last night "The PHH needs to be done. I don't envy you." Thought about flying out and crashing on his couch for a couple of days and helping him and @Qball with the maintenance and then driving it back. hahaha

I'm going to have to scour the web for tickets. This may be a fun adventure. Whats the worse that could happen...

Get out there on the weekend, spend a few days going over everything and fixing anything to make it road trip worthy and head out. Sounds like an awesome time to me!
