I'm on a roll here now, I'll work on a camping list as well.
When I go on my infrequent day trips, I'm very guilty of not bringing much in the way of tools or spare anything. Its been something I have been meaning to do, but well, you know.
Anyways, what I do carry in my 40 pretty much all fits in my glovebox (one of my favourite Landcruiser features btw, the enourmous glovebox).
2 crescent wrenches, couple of screwdrivers, flat repair kit, 2 rolls of toilet paper, wind up LED flashlight, waterproof matches, compass, first aid kit, some fuses, bug spray, ummm....I'll have to go see what else.
Tire iron and jumper cables under the seat as well. And a 6' hi-lift strapped to the floor (gotta move it to the rollbar or something one day)
I have an old orange survival suit bag that I throw in before I leave for any trip that has:
axe, shovel, hatchet, couple of tow straps, shackles, tree saver, gloves.
And also I throw in my 12v air compressor (Tornado III) and for some reason one of those powerpack thingies I got for Xmas last year.
