So I realized that I have not created a build thread for my old beater.

I bought this 1992 HDJ81 in 2011, it had a 4” lift and some 35” tires and was in really great shape. It is fully loaded with factory lockers, fridge, cold weather package(heated seats, fuel heater, pull down rad screen) and a winch.

I brought it home, put it through the out of province inspections, and it passed easily. We found a rooftop tent on our local classifieds and picked it up for cheap. I then started adding parts and replacing oils. I bought a 3 in 1 gauge with boost/EGT/trans temp then started messing with the fuel. Here is a list of my upgrades
• Boost controller (home built)
• 3 in gauge
• Roof top tent
• Change oils/fluids
• Replace brake pads
• Supra turbo
• Celica turbo
• GBentink bad boy turbo
• Home built roof rack
• 9” 75W HID lights
• 4 6” offroad lights
• Hella 55/100 head lights
• Walbro pump
• Webasto TSL17
• Webasto Airtop 2000
• 3” exhaust
• Toyota snorkel
• ACSD delete
• Sliders
• Snow performance stage 2 water/meth injection
• Lower rad hose heater
• Air to air intercooler
• 2 new batteries
• Fire extinguisher
• Rear drawers
• New Doetsch shocks
• New bearcat CB and PA
• New stereo/amp/12” sub
• LED Mag light mount
• Shovel mount
• Hi-lift mount
• 11x16 military Michelins on Toyota 4runner rims
• Oil catch can
• ARB CKMA compressor and 5 gallon tank for air tools and air horns
• Edgestar fridge
• Maxtrax tracks
• Crazy amount of RAM mounts
• IPAD navigation
• Spot gps
• Synthetic winch line
• Trasharoo

It still isn’t done yet. I am ordering
• 4.88 R&P
• Crawler gear
• Ironman 6” springs or full air ride (not sure)
• 50” LED light bar
• Hopefully a cruisin offroad rear bumper
• 4” divorced downpipe and exhaust
I am sure the list will grow too. I hope not too much as I am trying to build a 1928 model A Ford coupe too

Here it is the day I bought it

Cool to see another Fort Mac guy on the site. Are you a long timer or a recent import? I grew up there but now live in Chilliwack.. Still have family there and come up once and a while. I havn't been home since last year. Love the truck still on the build side of mine but I started with a L/H drive and added the diesel. So I'm behind the 8 ball but catching up slowly.

I'll keep my eyes open next time I'm up.

Cheers

I have only been living here for 3 years now. I like it here so far, but the only thing I hate is it is 5 hours from anywhere. If you are in town let me know and I will organize a get together with the rest of the Tarsand Toyotas

I will get a pic of the maxtrax as soon as I get the truck out of the garage

Thanks for the kind words, there are some big changes coming to my truck real soon and will try to take pics and update this

So I got a few updates now. I just got my new 4.88 R&P from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters. New Marlin low range crawler gear from the boys a Big Country Customs in Vancouver. All new gauges with a 3 pillar pod and have ordered a 42" LED light bar that i will hopeful have on before Moab. I got a busy weekend in front of me
