So I am stuck cooking the meat this year. I am thinking of either smoking a Turkey or deep frying something. The girl can burn water so it looks like I am the one making the big feast.

So what are some ideas? I need to make a good impression on her parents.

Thanks,
Brittain

I've brined and deep fried a few turkeys, and they were really good, but I missed having pan dippings.
That said, I'm gonna lobby the family for a Strip Loin roast with Yorkshire this year.

I smoked a turkey breast last year and it was awesome.

Good ideas. I was tossing around the idea of a prime rib.

What ever way you fix the meat, you gotta have green bean cassorle
by a can of Frenches French Fried Onions and the reciepe is on the back, so simple your girl can make them

order up some tamales..

What he said, we always have some tamales at Thanksgiving.

Everyone always wants that green bean casserole, except me. I always feel like I'm eating some cold cream of mushroom soup with chunks of green beans and stuff in it. Not a fan.

I'm on your team here.
Overcooked grey beans in slimy salt-sauce with limp onions are not good eats in my book.
Steamed green beats with lemon juice please!

Tamales are her parents job, not even going to try to compete against her mom on making those.

I'm thinking a small deep fried turkey and then cooking up a prime rib.

Chad: Menudo is gross, even L doesn't eat that stuff
