It has changed quite a bit since i was last there.

A= The original street that leads to USFS dirt road. You travel under the bridge (red line) and then squeeze past the new connector.
There is no signs.. but the squeeze wont allow a full size rig to get through.

B= This would be the new connector with the "road closed sign" that we would go around. (This is not USFS signage)

C= This is the easiest route. But there could be a security guard.

Impressive pre-planning! Looks like we can use any of the above in order to get in? I am down for whatever.

Almost sounds like a similar situation we ran into up at Big Bear when we went for the Adopt a Trail. One trail they wanted to show us was being shut down because a developer was working right up to one end of the trail head, effectively shutting it down!

Yep happens a lot. Here's a quote from my USFS buddy....

"Hmm, if there wasn't a Forest Road sign (like 5S04) posting that the road was legitimate (and suitable for your vehicle), you'd technically be travelling cross country. That's assuming you're withing the Forest boundary (all of our roads are posted).

Still on City/County land, you'd have a good arguement, as they have to post "closed". USFS roads are closed unless posted open."

And i replied.. "on their website it's showing Skyline Drive is 'open' http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/cleveland/conditions/ "

He asked if it was a gated community , i replied "Nope" "at least not yet"

"Was asking because that was a popular trick that Angeles national Forest used to pull. They'd claim "no gate" - but put the access to the road through a gated community"

Interesting to learn some of their tricks. Sucks it is coming to this at most of our areas. If we all aren't careful we could loose it all before our kids get to enjoy it. Except you Brent, yours are old enough enjoy it already. :flipoff2:

Interesting according to this.. the USFS property doesnt even start till in the back of the canyon. Where the yellow marker is.. there is a sign i saw that shows the boundary line.

I think, legally they can sign/barrier ahead of actual USFS land if they have permission from the AHJ.

A put the map on page 1 of this thread now too.

Very cool. Are these images from Google earth or a USFS source?

aren't there all sorts of laws preventing interference with access to public lands...?

I don't see any COPS hiding anywhere, Let's go for it.

SOCALFJ, is it ok if two or three fjcruisers join us? They are local socal guys from fjcruiserforums.

You will, of course, represent us all, including yourself, pro bono, right?

This is gonna be one hell of a parade through main divide!!! watch out mtn bikers!!!! The more the merrier! It's just a dirt road... bring anyone! Im not claiming responsibility for anyone anyways. :D

"eh officer i have no idea why all these knuckleheads followed me up this road.. i was just minding my own bidness" lol :flipoff2:

I aint skerred.

There are 5 fj's planning on joining us for this run. Should be fun to see all different mods, I've told everyone 8:00 am sharp, no late comers. Looking forward to this trip, it will be the first with the wife and dog.
