i have a 82 pickup with trail gear 5" leifs and there is hardly any articulation in the rear. it i has 7 leifs in the rear i was thinking of removing a couple of leifs and installing some tera flex revolving shacks,, has anyone used these shackles and what are the pros and cons

how new are the springs?

i think my shackle mounts are to far forward not allowing the leifs to flatten out when the spring is fully compressed, also causing a real stiff ride being the springs are always arced

yeah, maybe? got a better, up close pic of the shackle?

Is anything limiting the droop? Like brake lines, e brake cable, or most likely the shocks? The one pic with the tire off the ground looks like something is keeping it there. Could be the HD springs and a light weight rear. I would unbolt the shocks first and see how it flexes and look for something limiting. It doesn't look like the shackle even moved.

Also don't be scared to pull a couple leaves if you determined that nothing is limiting. The leaves are probably not broke in. As the break in they will flex and settle and you can always add a leave or two back in as needed.

from the pictures it looks like the drivers side has more droop than the passengers side , the ebrake cable and the rear brake hose is on the passengers side. it looks to be the stock brake hose, and from the picture it looks to be maxed out in length and possably limiting the passengers side droop , the ebrake cable when set the parking brake pulls tight against the right side shock, so I think I will route the ebake cable in front of the shock and get a longer brake hose, I am also going to remove all the shackle bolts and the front leaf spring mounting bolts grease them and make sure they are not to tight

Yeah be sure to not over tighten them and squish the bushings. You can add some washers where needed to take up some slack in any areas that may be tightened down and squishing the bushing. I however don't think this is causing too much. It could limit it I guess if something was seized but being fairly new springs I doubt that. I see more people put on lift springs or very flexy springs for pure looks and say " I don't need to change to long brake lines or move this or measure for correct shocks cause driving down the road there is plenty". Or they will " fix it later this is temp". My old 85 had stock lines up front on a 4" lift that had the lines stretched out just rolling down the road. And the guy drove it like that and didn't see any problems. But he also " dropped down to 35" tires cause it didn't turn the 38" tires like it could the 35". This thing was a stock 22r with 4.10 gears. With street 35" tires it couldn't gain speed rolling down hill but somehow he thought it rocked.

Sorry for the rant. Just gets to me what ya find sometimes after buying a modified truck and how downright dangerous some people are to save $50 on brake lines or some other crucial mod that comes with the territory.
