I live in Glenwood Springs and work for an engineering company. My company in conjunction with Pitkin County will be removing the existing bridge, modifying the stream channel, replacing the 4WD bridge with a longer better bridge on the Pearl Pass trail just down trail from the Montezuma turn-off. The work days will be Saturday July 31st and Sunday August 1st.
The bridge will be completely removed and the trail impassable during this time for both vehicles and pedestrians. Pitkin County will be posting signage at the Aspen trailhead and at the summit of Pearl Pass.
