temperature slide doesn't work

anyone know how to diagnos the temperature selection switch? I can manually make it go from hot to cold under the hood, but the interior control will not actuate the control lever.

You may already know this, but if not, the slide isn't a cable control like other Toyotas of that era. I have never gotten into it to find out exactly how it works, be it an electric motor or vacuum (leaning towards the motor theory) but in any case it's not a direct drive between the slide and valve. The key must be on at very least, and possibly with the engine running- I've never checked. Moving the slide with the truck off doesn't do anything. If you already know all this, disregard this post.

What type of vehicle are we talking about here? We can't help you troubleshoot your problem if we do not know what kind of rig you drive and the mileage.

By the way, have you followed the instruction that Gench gave you?
