Hey Guys -

I was curious if you could help me out. A fellow MUD member has sent me some emails in regards to interest in my 1989 BJ70. At first, he/she asked me to provide proof of importation, which is A valid question. So, I sent them all the information including some low Res copies of the TX title and white slip to prove it has legally been titled in the US. I also accompanied the documentation with photos of the Chassis number and ID plate.

After sending the info, this member gets back to me stating, first, I didn't provide correct documentation so they cannot register and title in their state.

"Okay," I thought. What the heck could I be missing. I literally provided every single Customs form under the sun, signed and stamped. In reality, this member wouldn't need these forms anyway. More just proof it was imported. The Texas title should be all they need.

Anyway, long story short, this member is now accusing me of listing multiple land cruisers with the same photo of the same chassis number. The strange thing is, I never posted my chassis number or ID plate on this site.

Have any of you seen this chassis number or ID plate anyplace else? In any other classified on this forum? I have only searched the 70s so far. I'm kind of pissed if someone else is in fact using it (obviously).

I'm trying to nail down if this member is bullshitting me or if someone really is hijacking my legal chassis number.

If this member is in fact trying to scam me or degrade my reputation, I would like to file a complaint. We don't need people like this on MUD. Agree?

Thanks in advance.

As above I wouldn't pursue that potential sale mate get it'll only turn out bad pull out before its too late to pull out

as far as someone else using your trucks information and photos if you've ever shared anything across the internet or email anyone can have it and try and use it

There are several guarantees when attempting to sell a vehicle via 'MUD:
The guy or gal who criticizes your vehicle and price the most NEVER intended to buy it in the first place.
No matter the price, even if it's free, is too expensive.
Even if your a mile down the road, you're a bit to far.
No matter what color your Cruiser is, it's the wrong color.
When it eventually sells you will get 30 emails saying "I was going to buy it today and pay your full asking price".
Present your product in the most honest way you can and let the chips fall where they may.
Good luck .....

I appreciate the feedback. It's more the fact that this forum is such a great resource for people and to have members such as this is just a disgrace. I would love to just post this member's username, but I will refrain and forget about this pain in the ass.

Thanks, again.

Now, let's get back to Land Cruisers...

These ads show the exact VIN and Data plate photos. Are these ads not yours?

Diesel Toyota Land Cruiser BJ70
Toyota : Land Cruiser BJ70

Hey Hoser -

Thanks for looking into it. Those are in fact my ads. This member was claiming another MUD member had sent the exact ID Plate and Chassis number in which I sent them. They said there was another Land Cruiser on this site that had the same chassis number. So, they were accusing me of providing false information. The fact is they could never actually provide me with a link to the ad.

Along with many other false accusations (one even saying the Chassis number was "too perfect" and should be sans serif text, not serif - WTF), I have just decided to ignore this person, which I should have done to begin with. The only thing driving me to dig more was the very small chance someone else was using my photos to try and sell another Land Cruiser. I could see this potentially causing a headache if I didn't look into it.

Thanks again.

Your cruiser is too white, ill give you 500 bucks and take the obvious fake off your hands......

Like above, ignore, even the craigslist people have their share of crazy. Had a buyer for my nissan, this saturday he saw it, drove it, said he was interested, I said ill get new tires on it for 250 more and we agreed. Sunday went to lunch and a movie, had 4 text messages with questions, last one reading "Well its obvious you are not serious about the sale, ive reported your listing as a scam".....

What a PIA. In spite of the jerks, it's really nice to deal with the good guys; the ones who still know what integrity and honesty are...

It boggles my mind how much free time these idiots have...I'll never understand it, haha.
