I do have a need for those pics!

I know probally most people have no use for pics like these, but I thought maybe some newbies might like to see (I know I did when I started).

So whats everyones thought on rebuilding the birfields while I am this far into it? Think it is needed? Also, any tricks for getting all the old grease out?

I really enjoy the picture part, every detail is important to all of us foraying into a new rebuild!

Thanks! :bounce:

Ican’t believe it has been over a year since I tore the axle down for rebuild. This is the first thing I can say I re assembled in my rebuild. Up to this point, its all be tear down. I tore everything down and blasted/grinded everything. Powder coated what I could and painted the rest. Replaced Wheel & Trunion bearing, Brake Calipers, Pinion Seal (Kicking myself for not doing the Pinion bearings:doh:) had rotors turned & completely rebuilt the warn hubs. Now I just need a frame to put this under. Supposed to have it back by April. Oh well I still have to do the rear before I am ready for the frame. Hopefully I can the rear A LOT faster!

Well... its happened. I swore I'd never be that guy that starts a project like this and decides to sell it. But... However due to time constrainents and lack of funds, I have decided to sell it. I bought this FJ running and drivable. I was told the engine was recently rebuilt when I bought it. The engine seemed to run strong and compression tests were good. However it did need carburetor work. As I began to get it ready for PA Inspection, I decided that the best way to know what I have is to tear it down. So that’s what I did. I tore the entire truck down. I then had the frame sent out to have all rust cut out, sand blasted and rust cutouts repaired. I had a new front cross member fabricated (Old one was completely rusted) to allow for power steering to be added. Then the frame was painted with POR15. I then torn down both axels and had them sand blasted. I rebuilt both axels and gave them a fresh coat of paint too. I upgraded the rear drum brakes to discs. I installed new leaf springs (Hell Creek) & shocks with a 4in lift. Right now the truck is built up as a rolling chassis (Axels, suspension, frame, wheels & tires). I have tons of parts (to many to list) & pictures. I bought the truck for $3500. I easily have $3000 invested on top of that. I am looking to get $4000 for everything. I am located in south eastern PA (outside of Hanover). Call me with any questions. Ask for Matt 717-227-9921

Wish I had more garage space. I'm in Delaware and it sounds like a good price, particularly since all the hard work has been done. I'd just finish it, but if you insist, I hope you get what you're asking!
