tax issue, anyone know

i ordered a new FJ a few weeks ago, and the dealer has yet to locate one that suites my needs. i have a written sales receipt for 6%, but no VIN number.
the state sales tax is increasing Saturday to 7%. am i stuck with the 6 ONLY if i take delivery, or at least pay for it, before Saturday?
it might be the difference between the color they have,a nd the color i want.

I believe that most states use the date of purchase, meaning the day the truck transfers from their possession to your own, as the date of tax assessment. Meaning if you receive the truck after Sat you should expect 7%, even if you prepay for it now.

See if they will back date the paper work. I have had a dealership do this at year end so that they could get it on their books for the year, but took delivery after the first of the year.
