For those of us who want a 295/85r16 or 36x10r16 or something of the like why don't we ask the retread manufacturers like Green Diamond or High-Tec to simply put a 9.5-10.5" cross section onto a 35+" casing?

It is something to inquire about. One question that begs asking though is that since almost all 35's have a 12"+ wide section width, how would they be able to narrow it? I know that isn't a question that anyone can probably answer but I thought I'd throw it out there. I do wonder if a 285 or 295 could be mfg'd with either a deeper tread or a thicker base below the tread to bring it closer to a 35.
