Anybody have any idea why the tach on my KZJ78 frequently will not work until after I have driven it for 30 minutes or so??

It might be the sensor on the inj pump dying. I guess heat is somehow affecting its operation

mine does it as well, takes a while to kick in after driving for about 15-20 minutes it kicks into life - just thought it was a crap connection, also my glowplug circuit died to but I just bypassed the whole glow plug circuit

Are you saying there is a connection between the tach and the glow plug connection ??

na dont think so , im just anticipating more electrical gremlins in the future , i just fixed two window regulators and replaced the master switch on the drivers door, so possibly just age wear and tear is slowly affecting all the e;ectronics? pretty good going for a 20+ year old vehicle though

Im assuming they have the sensor on the pump like the other rotary pump models.
