1HD-FTE, 2006, anyone with first hand experience please advise.
My version of Techstream shows t.p.s. as % instead of voltage, so I researched and found that some say that it should be 0% at idle and 100% at w.o.t.
Other results say, "
  • Idle: Usually 0% to 15% (varies by model, sometimes idling around 10-15% is normal depending on how the ECU interprets the closed throttle voltage).
  • WOT: Typically near 100%, though some systems may read slightly lower (e.g., 80-90%+). "
No idea how I'm supposed to know how the ecu interprets the closed throttle voltage.
My original readings were 17% and 70%, and rotating the housing fully clockwise gives me 12% and 70%, within spec at idle, but not at w.o.t. which hasn't changed at all.

Probably different for your motor, but on my 3UZ LS the FSM has you turn the ignition on, don't touch throttle pedal and check the TPS %. Then you adjust until it's within a range something like around 12-15%, then you're supposed to push the throttle valve completely closed by hand and then let it reopen and see what the percentage is. It should then be within a range of something like 10-14%. Maybe someone has the FSM pages for that?

The specs state voltages, 0.54v at idle and 4.5v at w.o.t.
12% of 4.5v is 0.54v so where I set it to (12%) is spot on, however, the w.o.t. setting is unachievable due to the mechanical setup of the peddle. I have bent my pedal arm up and got it to 80%, about the mechanical limit, so that is what it is. Drives great, so as long as it doesn't go into limp mode again,,I'm happy.
