I have a '94 80 series and have a couple of questions about the swaybars.
It has a Icon 3' lift, if that matters in any way.
Rear - The rear swaybars have the mount that bolts to the outside of the frame, and I'm interested in changing to the style that bolts to the bottom of the frame. I see holes that look like they may fit, and I imagine I'll have to add some captive nuts or nutserts. Are the swaybars the same between the side and bottom mount? I don't feel the need for a different stiffness swaybar. I'd like the additional clearance - I have some 2" extended Metaltech 4x4 longer strap mounts installed (with new connecting links and fresh swaybar bushings), but there is a lot of leverage on these arms. I'd also like to get a little extra inboard clearance for my tires.
Front - I have stock swaybars with spacer blocks (Landtank, IIRC), and caster correction plates on the radius arms (Landtank 2.5, new factory radius arm bushings, new hardware). I am seeing periodic contact (visible removal of mud/dust, some occasional minor clanking sounds) between the outside edge of the swaybar and the inside edge of the radius arm on the driver's side. Are there any adjustments, tips or tricks that can use to help reduce this?
The other (right/passenger side) has more clearance:
