No, and at the pay booth on the way in last year, the attendant said that she did not know the event was even going to take place. In fact, she did say that nobody - including local law enforcement - was aware of the event.
Tuesday evening I expect.
I leave Calgary on Monday after supper and expect to get to Helena MT, where 3puppies and I will exchange parts, at around 2 AM. Depending how we feel (I have a co-pilot) we will either rest a few hours or continue on.
It is possible that we we will get to LV late afternoon.
We may hole up there for the night or continue west for a few more hours, again depending on how we feel. I was hoping to go through the desert in daylight.
I would stay in Vegas for the night, "a few hours" equals, Baker, Barstow, neither one is place to stop for the night, trust me.
I just did a quick look on mapquest and Barstow looks like a great place. Nestled at the base of a mountain, alongside a river and on the north perimeter of Mojave National Reserve. Sounds like a tourist destination to me.
Are there any houses there, or just the trailer park?
Anyway, the plans are flexible and maybe the timing will get us to the town of Mojave on Tuesday night.
Is there an east west road that is more north of the interstate coming out of LV?
It looks like a lot of empty space there.
I may be able to find a place for you to stay in Vegas for a night. Depends on a couple of things, but as we get closer I can let you know.
Thanks Mace, but we will just sleep in or under the truck when we stop. The suburban I'll be towing with has a lot of space when the seats are layed flat.
Mojave=Baker with a spaceport............If we used human anatomy for descriptions of cities in California, Barstow would be the butthole.
I think Pahrump is in Nevada, the lower region of coarse.
There's 4-6 of us leaving from sacramento around 6am. What time you all heading out? And what route you taking.
