Hey guys (and girls), I pulled the sunroof cassette out this evening and found the reason it will not move, rust.

I need some sunroof parts. I searched here and found this thread

https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/534071-cheap-new-oem-toyota-parts.html

(and then visited all of the linked dealers, and performed an internet search as well) and the cheapest parts total is about $481 (without shipping)

I need part #s
63223-60030 (cable-right) $192.10
63224-60030 (cable-left) $192.10
63221-60030 $96.88
(the last I believe to be correct according to the dealer parts diagram, it is the cable guide assembly for a 2000 LC)

This particular cruiser sat for months with clogged sunroof drains, which backed up and leaked into the cable tubes, which caused the cables to rust inside and now they will not budge. I have tried soaking them in rost off (wurth product) and they are not moving. The local dealer wanted $317 per rail (found them for $192 each online) and I didn't even ask about the cable guide (hence I am not positive on the part #)

This particular dealer did give me wholesale cost on the transmission for my wife's sequoia a few months ago. Though this time, they "helped" me out by reducing the price from $317 to $297... gee thanks guys...

Anyway, if $481 is the cheapest available, I will have to get them, but if someone has a dealer connection, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Micah

Search for CDan or Sam at Lowe Toyota. Both can help with MUD discounts. I use the latter with great results, Sam will even send part diagrams

Please post back your final results. I have the identical problem with my sunroof. Wife would love it to be working by springtime, so I have some work to do. But would love some final numbers so I can tell her how much dough it's going to cost us.

I usually have the best prices for OEM parts in most case. I can help you to get the parts if you dont mind waiting for them for about a week.

Here is prices for the part you listed above.

63223-60030 $144.86
63224-60030 $146.53
63221-60030 $80.39

Pm me for more info.

Is the guide-rail part #9 in the photo? Is this the same for a 1998 Cruiser?

This is what I was given by the dealer, 63223/63224 are the cables, they go inside of 63221

*edit* but yes, I would assume they are the same on the 100 series cruisers. If someone else knows different, please chime in.

According to EPC they have changed design of sunroof in 08/2002.

Yours is early version.

If you had later model you would be looking into way more $$$$ to fix it. 63200-60150

You can still get these parts?

Not sure, that was awhile ago,. I still have a motor assembly/ gearbox for a early 1998-2002 sunroof as a spare. As long as the cables are not damaged you should be able to free everything up clean it and reinstall and all should work.

Yes; ca. $ 160 imported and $270 domestically, but you only need the cable guide assemblies (63223- & 62224-60030). The housing part number won't be necessary unless you've rolled the truck, or dropped it and stepped on it when you removed the assembly.

FWIW, mine were rusted through and through from salt air at the beach. No amount of cleaning is going to remove that, becasue the clearance inside the tubes is too small. I replaced the entire assembly from a salvage truck for $40.
