mine leaked too, i cleaned the channels and unclogged the front drain tubes. this stopped the leak, then the plastic trim where mrbigboy did his repair. i put weather strip adhesive and it stopped the leak. not pretty but it works.

Adding my experience to help anyone with the same symptoms.

THE SYMPTOMS
I had a unique leak that was visible exclusively on the cloth headliner at the front left and right corners. The collecting water would drip onto the head passenger and driver when raining.

First I cleared the sunroof drains:
Using a long electrical wire all the way down to the base of the tubing followed by hot water, they cleared up super nice and worked great. Yet, the leak persisted.

Next I tried taping up the gap between the sunroof gasket and the roof with waterproof tape. Same leak came back.

THE SOLUTION:
I removed the sunroof glass once more, cleaned the gasket thoroughly with soapy wooder, and use a glass sealer (Permatex Windshield and Glass Sealant Gel) to seal off the gap between the inner and outer gaskets that make up the outer edge of the sunroof glass. Then I put extra sealant on the small horizonal gap through the gasket in on the long edge of the roof.

The diagram shows a top down view, I put the glass sealant between the orange and green gaskets were there is a little lip, and extra in the gap highlighted in red.

Thanks for sharing this! I’ve been chasing a sunroof leak recently right over passenger head. I’ve used glass sealant where the inner gasket meets glass and had good results except over the passenger seat. I just started using Capitan Tolley’s Creeping Crack Cure. Was hoping this was save me from having to take the glass out. Waiting for next rain to see if it worked.

If your sunroof is leaking over your pasenger's head, your drains aren't working. The pan is filling up and overflowing at the corner. Sealant isn't going to fix the problem, unless your goal is to permanently seal the sunroof closed.

FWIW, the gasket isn't there to prevent water from getting into the drain pan. If it was, there would be no need for a drain pan and roof drains.

This totally depends on the source of the leak. I currently also have a leak over the passenger's head. My drains are clear, there is no water standing in the pan. It drips farther inboard so it misses the pan completely. I had similar a few years ago and ran a bead of sealant between the glass and inner hard seal, and that worked until a few weeks ago. I think I now have the same issue, water getting between the inner and outer seal.

I've ordered a new outer seal, which is sitting on my workbench waiting for me to make some time for this. I'm planning to pull off the outer seal, and bond a new one on hoping it will take care of that area. I'll report back whether that worked or not.
