As much as I love a good A/T tire, I think the right choice for my 13 LX570 is to get a good 20" street tire. I put a fair amount of miles per year on this truck (15-18K), and the vast majority of it is on two lane paved backroads in the PA mountains. I also run Nokian snow tires in the winter - so snow traction is a non issue for me.

While I'm well versed in A/T's, MT, and performance tires - I know very little about mainstream tires.

Anyone have first hand experience with a tire on this rig which gives good comfort, low noise, and decent hydroplane resistance, while having the ability to handle questionable PA backroads, and an occasional dirt road?

It makes me sad to say it, but essentially I'm asking for good soccer mom tires...

My 200 is running Defender LTX since they were new on there when I bought it. As much as they look like grocery getting tires I can say that they are great for daily driving. Don't get any noise, or vibrations, and mpg is great.
On one of my road trips it was raining hard the whole way and was shocked at how much traction the tires have. Didn't hydroplane 1 time and was traveling between 70 - 80mph. So far looks like they are wearing well

Edit: have also used these tires on trail rides and no traction issues on muddy trails or rocks. That part I definitely did not expect! Thought I was going to get stuck but never had a slip

Like above, I’d also recommend the Michelin Defender LTX. I’ve run them in the past on a vehicle that was primarily a commuter with occasional off-road use. Really great on pavement, super smooth, quiet, wore evenly and had no issues light off-roading on forest service roads. Did great in rain as well. I am considering them for my wife’s 200 as her next non-winter tires. I highly recommend the Defender LTX.

Thanks all for the advice. It looks like they're about $249 a tire mounted and balanced in my area.

All the tire guys I spoke with echoed your statements. They essentially all said 'They're a great tire. Expensive, but there's no reason to talk you out of them.'

I got snow here again this morning, so I think the Hakka's will stay on for another 2 weeks or so.
