Some type of rubber isolator between the tailgate and carrier might be an idea. Would not only add protection but keep things from rattling?

How did you modify your ARB bumper? Did you just cut the bottom lip off?

it is hard to see but it is clearanced up quite a bit... i combo of the first bumper pic and this...... one.... this one is not mine but what i was shooting for...
