I stumbled upon these lanterns while looking for something else on Youtube. This is a pretty thorough review:

They are also an Amazon's Choice with 864 reviews and a 4-1/2 star rating (even though I bought mine from Walmart.com).

I ordered three, thinking I'd use them mostly for ambient lighting around the campsite. However, now that I've had the chance to actually try them out, the flashlight feature is pretty bright also.

I use them for backpacking and camping. It is perfect for the gear loft in the tent, and it throws light downard. Collapses paper thin and weighs nothing. LED lights use barely any current and to recharge throw it on the dash or in between the sunroff and the sunroof shade.
